Anna Kelermenou was born in 1988 in Veria, and grew up in Katerini. She studied Fine and Applied Arts with specialization in painting, at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, under the supervision of professor Ioannis Fokas and graduated magna cum laude. She continued her artistic studies in the field of music, studying flute with professor Dieter Voght and classical singing with professor Marina Voulogianni. Her visual works extend beyond painting practices to that installation and video art. Her work reflects her interest around the individual’s specific characteristics in relation to their connection to the surrounding space. She finds painting prominently fertile ground, which she uses to explore thematics as well as, assembling her theoretical and technical experimentations. Her visual approach navigates within a spectrum of austere illustrating aesthetic elements, influences of manga and video games and reaching to abstraction, whilst often accompanied by conceptual markings. She has exhibited in Athens, Thessaloniki and Katerini and has created scenic art for opera and theatre performances. At the same time, her art activities extend to the field of poetry, education sector and European programs. To further expand her artistic conceptual approaches and research, she currently attends the interdisciplinary master's program "Art and Public Sphere", implemented in cooperation between the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts and the department of Political Science of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
